Tess and one of her Christmas gifts. The kids had to wrap them at least twice before I had them put them into boxes. Tess could smell her gifts and several times was scolded for digging under the tree and destroying wrapped gifts. She discovered all of hers and had to have them taken away several times. She is now just happy to be able to chew on one of them without being reprimanded.

The only damage done after skidding out of control for about 1/8th of a mile on ice. We ended up against the guard rail and fortunately were able to continue home. We are just so thankful that this turned out as well as it did.

The ambulance and fire-trucks met us at an exit ramp near Gypsum, CO. after we were hit from behind on I-70. The roads were horrible at this point. They wanted to make sure we were all ok, Paityn hit her head pretty good on the window. She was fine and we were able to continue on home after about a 2 hour delay. This was a very long trip home from Kansas.

Our Truck 'BLOW OUT' returning home from Moab. It could have turned out so much worse. Ken was driving and towing our Jeep when it blew. We were going East on I-70 only 10 miles from the Colorado Border and 34 miles from Fruita Colorado. AAA sent a flat bed tow truck out of Moab rather than Fruita since we were still in Utah. We waited 2 -2 1/2 hours for the tow truck. Like I said, we are fortunate to have come away from this incident without personal injury. It is just another reminder for us of the many things we are thankful for.

If you look off in the far left distance you are able to see the ply wood with the breaking bottle just cut in half as Keihlin shot the bottle. The next picture I tried to blow up so you could actually see the bottle being broken at the neck.
Pretty cool huh!! This photo was just as the 22 hit the bottle neck and just before it came crashing to the ground. I have to admit that was a pretty amazing shot made by Keihlin, and let me tell you, he is really pretty excited. Just ask him!

Science Fair. Paityn's 3rd grade teacher was the only teacher who had the kids do science projects. All of the kids did a really nice job.Licking the ice-cream mixer.

Everyone wanted in on the clean up of the ice-cream maker used at camp over the Memorial Day weekend. It was really a great treat.

Keihlin found that driving the 4-wheeler was so much more fun than just being a passenger. He really does well.
This is a Mamma bear with her two cubs that Paityn and I happen to run into on our way to camp. It was really an unexpected encounter and I frightened Paityn by yelling at her to grab my camera.

Paityn had a great recital for Drill Team. They performed 4 different routines, all of which were just awsome. She even performed a solo to "Fly Away". She has really enjoyed this experience and I think it is something she may continue with throughout the years. It is just so much fun to watch her perform.

Ken and I took a fantastic motorcycle class in Fruita, Colorado a couple of weeks ago. We learned a lot and had to spend 3 long days together. We made it through and got our endorse

ments. Ken also got a new bike. It is a Kawasaki Vulcan 1700.

2010 Easter

We all had a fun filled Easter weekend. It started with an egg hunt at our local pool. Keihlin got almost all the eggs in his designated area. He was a reall sport and made sure that all the other participants in his age range had at least two eggs. He ended giving up about 16 eggs. All the eggs were filled with coins. We then did our annual egg coloring and night egg hunt. This year at the park for the big Easter Egg Event the kids did really well and found a couple of plastic prize eggs. We didn't hang around very long after the event because the wind was extreamly cold. We hope everyone else had a fun filled Easter.

We took the kids snowmobiling above Meeker last weekend and had a really great day. A friend of ours was trying to climb out of a canyon and happened to start an avalanche. I caught all of it on video. He was not hurt and did manage to get out from the canyon. He rides the avalanche all the way to the bottom. It is really kind of cool to watch him slide down.

Paityn got this really neat Smithsonian Crystal Project from her Grandma and Grandpa Myers for Christmas. She and her dad are trying to figure out how to grow her first crystal. And it works!

Today we took Paityn and Keihlin snowmobiling above Meeker. The day started out just beautiful and by the end of the day we were in a white-out snow storm. The kids never once complained and where glad to get back to the car. It was a quiet trip home.

This year Paityn is on the Rangely Drill Team and having fun performing. The Drill Team currently consists of 6 girls in an age range from 6 to 12 and they have been performing this military dance at the college and high school basket ball games. This one was for the CNCC Men's Final Home Game. They really did a great job. Paityn is the one in the middle of the group.

Paityn is the one you hear counting.

FYI:The crowd was so excited and loud that Paityn actually didn't hear the start of the music and she is choreographed to go opposite of the other girls in the beginning of the routine. She caught up quickly and this performance was their best one since they started performing.

We went snowmobiling above Meeker on Valentine's Day. Ken is really stuck in a deep hole with his snowmobile. Here is a demonstration of a snow bungee being used to help pull out the stuck sled. Ken is the one who gets buried. Enjoy this, I did. Love you Kenney.

What a picture! While cleaning and trimming the excess foam in the new garage from around the door and windows, Ken cut out the perfect window frame. This frame is made from the expanding foam. The kids had fun posing in the frame.

The kids had a fun week giving the Rangely High School Panther Cheerleaders some experience in coaching a pee wee team. They performed at Rangely's last home game. It was a very cold night but the performance was worth it.

Keihlin is showing off and having a great pumpkin party in his kindergarden class. All of the treats had to be made with pumpkin. We made a jello mold of a brain and eyes,just for fun.

Keihlin is demonstrating his monkey bar abilities and once back in the class, he has to pick out the pumpkin that he thinks will most likely measure the same size as his head. I think he did a really good job. His pumpkin pick was only about an inch off. He has really enjoyed this class and teachers.

Paityn participated in our local rec-center sponsored volleyball season for 2009. She had a great time. The last day of the season was spent at our newly remodeled recreation center and consisted of playing volleyball in the pool and lots of pizza.

We have really had a great summer at the lake. We are trying our skills at a WakeKite. This is Ken trying to ride it with his AirChair. I really didn't think he could do it but he actually made it look easy.

Here is the WakeKite using a WakeBoard as I think it was intended for.

Paityn is trying out a WakeBoard for herself. We spent a week in Lake Powell and she wanted to try it. She really impressed us all and now I think she will probably give up on the knee board knowing she is capable of the WakeBoard.
Keihlin is contemplating another go at the KneeBoard. As you can see, the kids aren't as warm in the water, that's because our local lake has already began to cool significantly.

The 2009 MCHA Invitational. We started in Wolcott at Piney Valley Sporting Clays course. It was a fun filled couple of days. Ken, Scott and I were the only ones who actually shot all 400 rounds. WOW!!! ANY TIME A STATION WAS SHOT CLEAN(NO MISSES) THE PARTICIPANT HAD TO DO A JIG FOR US. I NEVER HAD TO JIG.

Ken's new lifted jeep has returned home. The Rangely Rock Crawlers are having a women's' course Saturday morning at 9:00 that Ken is actually going to let me drive in so that we can test out the new tires and gears. I will have to let you know how it turns out.

Hoppy Easter to everyone. LOL (here came peter cotton tail, hopping down the bunny trail,) IT WAS OVER BEFORE WE KNEW IT.

We had such a great Easter this year. Brad, Patty & Emerson flew out for a short visit. We had great friends over for a ham dinner and we found lots of eggs. We are still eating on eggs and have another 2 dozen to go. I am not a big fan of ham and beans, but I attempted to make it this weekend. They actually turned out okay. Ken loved them, of course he is a huge fan anyway. I spiced them up a little with green chilies, onion, etc. and served them with beer bread. It was a pretty tasty dinner even if I have to say so myself.

This was my attempt to have the kids do paper mache'. I ended up doing all the mache' mess and they blew up the balloons which seemed to keep them more occupied than anything else. We were trying to make eggs for Easter. As they were drying, the wind came up and blew them all over. Needless to say, they ended up broken and we never painted or finished the eggs. OH WELL.

During Spring Break, the kids and I spent a day on a treasure hunt. Our goal was to discover "Rock Art" around Rangely. We found some very interesting treasures and learned a thing or two as well. It was a great day.

Ken had a fun filled day at work knowing that his first born son would be visiting him for the removal of three cavities in two upper right molars. Unfortunately Keihlin is not finished. He gets to have another appointment this coming week to fix a couple more on the bottom right. Many people have said "I don't feel so bad about my kids knowing that the dentists kid has cavities" LOL. Keihlin was a trooper and did a fantastic job being the patient. Ken told him he was the best 4 year old he has ever had to work on in his dental chair. Kudo's to Keihlin.

Ken's safe is in, our move is now official

Ken and Steve Lowe did it. They got the safe moved in without incidence. Ken said once it got moved in our move can now officially start. It is going to take a while, we have so much stuff to go through.

We have acquired a new project that is taking much of our time over the past 2 weeks.

On October 10, 2008, this residence, located at 1381 La Mesa, built by Jason and Lillian McCormick, became our first new home. This is such a beautiful home with some of the most spectacular views Rangely has to offer. It also has lots of space which translates to lots of cleaning. We will be spending the next week or so cleaning and doing some finishing touches that we feel need completed before we are able to actually move in. Luckily we don't have to be out of our house anytime soon. This will give us a leisure moving schedule. We are planning to do one room at a time or something like that.

I finally arrived in Huntsville, AL, Thursday the 18th of September to meet Patty and Brad's beautiful, sweet, daughter, Emerson.

She is so perfect and I am so glad I have had the opportunity to enjoy this life changing, sleepless, time with them.

I am thankful to my husband and in-laws for making this adventure possible. They are tending to my kids back in Colorado until my return. A big thanks to them all.

Keihlin's first day of bus riding and pre-school.

Keihlin has been so excited for this year to begin. He goes to pre-school in the mornings and has been riding the bus.

He thinks the bus is for big kids and he would rather ride the bus or his bike to school. He isn't so fond of walking. He has really done well, getting up and being ready for the bus every morning by 7:35.

Remember to cherish today because you will never get these moments back.

Having a Great Time at Lake Powell

Well, it is official, The Summer of 2008 is coming to a fast end. We definitely had some hot weather for the better part of our summer.

At Lake Powell we had a fantastic fire-works display, (compliments of the Huitt's and Casto's) a fish fry, lots of catfish catching and even a little time to eat, drink and be happy.
